The street, not the listing photo

Drive Throughs

A listing shows you eight photographs taken with a wide lens on a bright morning. It does not show you the road outside, the building opposite, where anyone parks, or the twenty minutes the commute actually takes when everyone else is doing it too.

So we drive it and film it, uncut, at the hour it matters. 18 routes so far, with more added each month.

Uncut, at normal speed

No cuts, no music, no drone shot of the sea. The camera runs the whole way, because the point is the bit an edit would remove.

Filmed at the hour that matters

Rush hour for the commute, Friday afternoon for the shops, the school run for the traffic. An empty street at eleven on a Tuesday tells you nothing.

The things listings leave out

Parking on the street, the age of the buildings either side, the site hoardings, and whatever is going up on the plot next door.

Timed, with the clock on screen

Commute tests run the real route at the real hour with the time visible, so the number is yours to check rather than mine to claim.
